1. About These Terms

These terms apply to the Backgammon Zone mobile app and to the website backgammonzone.net (together, the "Service"), operated by Backgammon Zone ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading the app or using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

How we handle your data is described separately in our Privacy Policy.

2. The App Licence

The app is licensed to you, not sold, through Apple's App Store under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms add to that agreement; where the two conflict, Apple's agreement prevails for the app.

3. Ads and the Remove Ads Purchase

The app is free to download and is supported by ads supplied by Google AdMob, as described in the Privacy Policy. Some features, such as extra hints and undos, can be earned by choosing to watch an ad.

Remove ads is an optional one-time in-app purchase that turns advertising off. It is sold and processed by Apple, so payment, refunds and receipts are handled by Apple under its own terms: refunds can be requested at reportaproblem.apple.com. On a new device, or after reinstalling, use Restore purchase in the app's settings menu.

4. Playing With Others

When you play with a friend, you share a board with another person. Please be respectful: a nickname must not be offensive or pretend to be someone else. We may close a game, or refuse access to online play, where it is being misused.

Online games depend on our multiplayer server and on your connection. We do our best to keep them running, but we cannot guarantee that a game will never be interrupted, and a game left inactive for 24 hours is deleted.

5. For Entertainment Only

Backgammon Zone is a game played for fun. It involves no real money, no wagers and no prizes, and points, scores and the doubling cube have no monetary value.

6. Fair Use

You agree not to:

  • interfere with, overload or try to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its servers;
  • use bots, scripts or modified clients to play online games;
  • copy, resell or redistribute the app, except as Apple's licence allows.

7. Intellectual Property

The app, the website and their design, graphics, text and code belong to Backgammon Zone or its licensors. The rules of backgammon belong to everyone.

8. Changes to the Service

We may add, change or remove features, and may suspend or discontinue the Service or parts of it. Updates to the app are delivered through the App Store.

9. Disclaimer and Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties about it beyond those that cannot be excluded, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from its use.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the new terms.
